For an overview of the SPLICE Festival VII offerings, please see the About page.
We are now accepting applications to participate in SPLICE Festival VII. We welcome proposals from both dancers and musicians (composers, performers, and composer-performers) in the following categories:
Musical Performance: We welcome proposals from performers performing a piece of their choice, joint applications from composers and performers, and composer-performers performing their own piece. All works must include a live performance component and include electronics, either fixed or live.
Dance Performance: Dancers may apply solo or as an ensemble, either with musicians or without. All performances must include electronics (either pre-recorded or generative).
Improvisation Concert: One concert will be dedicated to collaborative improvisation. We will be pairing dancers with musicians to improvise a new work together. Spaces will be available for participants to arrive a day early to meet and rehearse.
Lecture Presentations: 15-minute lecture presentations may focus on any aspect of technology related to music or dance. This may include (but is not limited to) performance, creative practices, software, or hardware. Lecture presentations are not required to focus on works presented at the Festival.
Hands-On Workshops: 90-minute workshops focusing on interactivity or software are encouraged. Presenters will have access to the music school’s computer lab.
There is no application fee and no registration fee. However, participants are asked to be in attendance for the duration of the Festival.
