SPLICE Institute is a week-long, intensive summer program for performers, composers, and composer-performers interested in music that combines live performance and electronics. Applications are now being accepted for SPLICE Institute 2025, which will take place in-person June 22–28, 2025 in Kalamazoo, MI. See our Apply page for more information.
This year our featured guest artists are Anne La Berge and Ted Moore. Faculty and guests will lead workshops exploring topics and technologies including Max, signal processing basics, aesthetics, SuperCollider, performing using technology, and more. Guest artists will offer masterclasses and lessons.
Each year SPLICE Institute faculty, guests, and participants present over nine concerts featuring some of the most exciting contemporary music involving live performance and electronics. Since 2015, hundreds of works for live performance and electronics, many of them world premieres, have been programmed at SPLICE Institute.
Starting this year we will offer a new Ensemble track for those wishing to focus on performing with our expanded improvisation ensembles. See the Apply page for more details.
The SPLICE Institute’s infectious enthusiasm was clear... No doubt the SPLICE Institute will continue to grow as a hub of contemporary electroacoustic performance.
