Current call (Phase 1): SPLICE Ensemble Proposal Guidelines
Pieces do not need to have been composed at the time of the proposal
Proposals may be for arrangements or already composed pieces in addition to new works
A portion of this concert will include works that combine music and dance. Proposers interested in having their piece choreographed provide details about how movement might be included.
Works less than 20 minutes are preferred
All proposed works should include all three members of the Ensemble (trumpet, piano, drum set)
Preference will be given to works whose electronic component can be operated by the Ensemble (i.e., pieces that do not require a fourth person running electronics)
All three members of the SPLICE Ensemble can perform electronics (instead of their instruments)
Include a written statement proposing the nature of the collaboration
Pieces should involve only one computer/interface
All proposals should be for a stereo (2.1) setup
